ME!!! BOOOOOOOOOO

anyhow, with that out of the way, if you can talk the doc into xanax it works. But most docs won’t give it out. mine cut me off after 6 months because he was worried about addiction. turns out he could give two shits about withdraw though.

I do not know but thanks for asking. I have had a few of those and I just found that relaxing and being comfortable with surroundings always helps. Good Luck.

Panic attacks are not that rare, almos 27% of the population experience one or several of them.
It is an expression of a repressed depresion that needs serious treatment.
Most of sufferers sometimes think they are the only person in the world suffering those “bursts” of angro depresion.
The ideal treatment (not cure) is a combination of cognitive psychotherapy (the therapist will explain where your thoughts went wrong) amd antidepressants.
by the way, even when a sensation of “inminent death” is a component of the panic attacks, not a single case of death has been reported in the world literature…

Panic attack or asthma attack? You should see a doctor either way.

Hi
I had panic attacks for years, i couldnt breath ,m y heart would race, when I went to the hospital they told me I was hyperventilating , omg I thought I was dying
Its a learned behaviour, I went to classes for 3 months once a week , to unlearn it , for one if you dont open your mouth you cant hyperventilate ! Tell who every you go out with you have panic attacks so if you need to leave , you can , I always had to be near a door , so if had an attack I could get out
Now after going to these classes & learning the triggers which can be anything , I dont have them anymore
I know you feel stupid telling your friends but they are your friends, they should understand
go to therapy , it does help
find what triggers the attacks & face your fears , you wont die I promise
good luck

Gee Mel, how long have you had those? You say you weren’t stressing about anything at the time of the onset, but there must be an underlying problem to cause them. Either way, please go see a doctor and don’t pay attention to the first anwerer, who states that his doc could care less. He should have or still should switch doctors. In your case, there is something that bothers you and having learned a bit about you over the past couple of weeks, my guess is that your upcoming trip may have something to do with it. There is a huge difference between an asthma and a panick attack. To stop this from happening again, you might want to enroll in some classes that are offered by most hospitals or community centers. Check with them or look in the yellow pages. Or type panic attack into your search engine. On top of breathing and relaxing classes, it might be a good idea to ask your doctor if he/she thinks that a mild anti-depressant is in order. Please take care of the issue before travelling overseas. Best of luck and as always, I am here for you if you need me :) MsB
P.S. I am glad that your friends were smart enough to call an ambulance and have you checked out. And am equally glad that you seem to have made it through this one alright. However, if they persist, please get medical help. They can be dangerous and turn into more than they seem now. Take good care of yourself. You’ve been doing so good and I am proud of you for trying to live a better and healthier life.

this may sound like the stupidest answer ever but first & foremost u must remember at all times that u r not alone in this world.take deep breaths n splashing alot of water on the face helps u calm down.oh yeah see a doctor if ur too worried about it.

First of all, put up the gloves my friend because Panic Attacks are a nightmare and you can kill it!!! Search into the WEB and understand what are those, how you get them and how to get rid of those.

First of all, try to seek help with a MD using Zoloft … its great, then kill the ghost of PANIC ATTACKS … it always happen out of the blue … and from there all the attacks will be based on the fear of having them again .. so when you see that Panic Ghost coming at you: look him in the eye and don’t fear, you won’t die and you won’t pass out! it’s only mental not physical … therefore, fight! use a notebook to write all the symptoms so you can identify them. Then when you feel like you are having the fear of experiencing one, just laugh and tell yourself: here it comes again to fool me … and try to relax … look down or just close your eyes until you gain control … be stronger than it and then let that Panic Nightmare rule your life !!!
