if you touch the stove, and it burns you, you learn to not touch it, right?

realize what is causing the attacks, and stop doing it, change it, alter it, approach it different, etc. always go to the reason for the cure.

like they say… best way to conquer fear… is to face it head on.

Yes, you can get some glucose tabs at any pharmacy or just drink large amounts of juice. For some reason, overloading the brain with glucose seems to reduce anxiety.

Cognitive therapy is what worked for me in the long run. Yes, it’s hard, and it’s not instant like benzodiazepines. I think medication has its place – an important place. But cognitive therapy teaches you to think differently about anxiety attacks, so that you’re less likely to have them and more likely to get over them quickly if you do have one.

I used to suffer from severe anxiety.

At first I just wanted something I thought would help right away with taken some prescription medication.
I can honestly say though is if you go/attend an anxiety group it really helps. You start to see, feel and know you’re not the only one who suffers from anxiety issues.

I still have anxiety but going to anxiety group meetings and activities really helped a lot. I wouldn’t have been able to do a lot of the things I can now, if it weren’t for going. At first I was skeptical and I thought it was pretty stupid but it’s really not. You don’t/won’t notice changes right away, but if you really try and are willing to change it helps.

Good luck.
