medication some kind of panic attack or maybe something else?

for the past year and a half or so, i’ve been having what i assumed were panic attacks. they almost always happen in the middle of the night or when i’ve been sleeping, when i first wake up. most of the time, i wake up in the middle of the night and then go back to sleep afterward.

what happens is i wake up and get this weird feeling, sort of tingly, like when your foot falls asleep, but almost painful and its in my whole body. then my heart beats so fast that it hurts and i honestly feel like im going to have a heart attack. i can’t move or scream or anything and i can barely breathe. it lasts about 5 minutes or so.

i also had one that was similar, but right before, i was hearing music and i had no idea that it was just in my head for like 2 minutes, and i was also moving involuntarily a little bit.

i’m going to a doctor next week about it, but i’ve assumed that these are panic attacks and haven’t taken medicine or gone to a doctor or done anything for a year and a half.

are these panic attacks or something else? if you know anything about something similar, please tell me!

This sounds more of a sleep apnea style thing, but could be part of a panic disorder. It is possible that you experience the apnea and then have a panic attack as a result.

I don’t know what it is called, but when you are asleep, your brain paralyzes your body. Some people wake up before it stops. I don’t know if this is what’s happening to you though.

They sound like what you would call night terrors. They basically are like a mild panic attack in your sleep.i had them for long time and didnt know what they were. They are like a precursor to anxiety issues.I would try to look into some relaxation techniques now and try to drop as much stress as you can.If you go to anxieties.com Dr. Reid Wilson talks about them and gives self help advice to get rid of them or make it so they dont interfere with the way you feel.I would say cut back first on caffeine and on sugar. You may try drinking chamomile tea before bed to relax you.Work on proper breathing and calming imagery before bed.Good Luck, stop the stress now before it grows.

my big bro has panic attacks. have you had a seizure? this is part of it.
its to do with the brain mentally. you should see a doctor. if you want to get to the bottom of this, ask to get a cat scan and a epelepzi test.
